Sculptris on Mac: Objects Appear Flat Instead of 3D

If upon launching Sculptris on a Mac machine, you see a flattened version of your object rather than a 3D image, the solution is simple:

  1. Go to your Applications folder
  2. Open the Sculptris Alpha 6 folder
  3. Open config.txt with a text editor
  4. In your config.txt change "enable_shaders 1" to "enable_shaders 0"
  5. Save the file

This easy fix instructs Sculptris to use a different shading system, which is compatible with the newer Mac OS versions.  Restart Sculptris and objects should now render normally.
