Change of Platform

For technical reasons, ZBrush and the ZBrush to KeyShot bridge are currently single-platform licenses.  To change platform, you have two options.

Option 1

If you would like to run this software on both platforms, you may purchase a second license by paying 50% of the current commercial price.  You will then have licenses for both platforms going forward, with all the rights and privileges normally associated with them.  Important:  This second license is not a stand-alone license.  It is an extension of your single-user license and may not be shared with anyone else.

Also, because the cross-platform license is a commercial license, the original license must also be commercial.  If you have an academic license you would need to upgrade that to a commercial license (at a cost of 50% of the current commercial license price) before you will be eligible for the cross-platform license.  Your total cost then ends up being the same as a full-price commercial license but you will now have commercial licenses for both Windows and Mac.  For your convenience, we can do both fees as part of the same transaction.

To receive this pricing, please submit a Support ticket and specify that you wish to purchase a cross-platform license.

Option 2

If you are abandoning your current platform entirely, effective 27 Aug 2015 it is now possible to make a one-time change of license platform.  This will allow you to go from Windows to Mac or vice versa.

Before the platform can be changed, you will need to deactivate any existing copies of ZBrush and the ZBrush to KeyShot Bridge.

  • For ZBrush:  Launch ZBrush and use Zplugin >> Deactivation >> Web Deactivation.  Your web browser will open to a page that asks for your account’s email address.  Submit that and then confirm on the page that follows.
    • If the Web Deactivation button is not available, choose Manual Deactivation instead.  In that case, write down the deactivation request code that will be displayed.  (Do not attempt to copy and paste it as clicking on your screen will immediately close the window.)  Submit a Support ticket with your serial number, the request code and the computer description that would have been given to us at time of activation.
  • For the ZBrush to KeyShot Bridge:  Browse to your ZBrush folder and run the Pixologic Deactivation Manager application found there.  In the “Activated Licenses” section, click the ZBrush to KeyShot Bridge to select it,  then click the “Deactivate” button.
  • For ZBrushCore:  Browse to your ZBrushCore folder and run the Pixologic Deactivation Manager application found there.  In the “Activated Licenses” section, click ZBrushCore to select it,  then click the “Deactivate” button.

After deactivating all copies of ZBrush, please submit a Support ticket to request the platform change.  We will disable your current serial number and issue a new one to you for the other platform.

This will not change license type.  An academic license will therefore remain academic.

Please note that this is a ONE TIME change.  If you need or wish to change platforms in the future your only option will be to purchase a cross-platform migration, which is available for 50% of the commercial license price.  You will then have licenses for both platforms going forward, as described above.
